Creating a New State of Mind (Or Digital Nomad Mindset)

Creating a new positive Digital Nomad state of mind, a freedom one.

The majority of us go through life on autopilot until one day the system glitches, the plane crashes and you find yourself floating in the middle of the ocean only to realize you weren’t flying anywhere but merely drifting through life. If you are reading this you have already crashed, nearly drowned, and want to find a way to get to that paradise desert island! 

Daydreaming isn’t such a waste of time… 

Everything in life will appear so far and out of reach if you don’t even let yourself dream it. This is the first step in getting where you want to be. Our consciousness is the most powerful tool we have at our disposal and the sheer act of visualizing can and will alter the reality you experience. 

Digital Nomad Mindset

Read this and then close your eyes, imagine your perfect day, imagine sitting on a chair or lying on a bed, just like you are now but this time you have just lived the best day of your life. 

  • Where are you? 
  • Where is your family and the people you love? 
  • What happened in your day that fulfilled you? 

Let yourself be completely free with this exercise, don’t place limitations based on your current circumstances. Do this exercise as many times as you need. It may help to play relaxing music without lyrics.  

Remember you control everything…

Now that you have created that reality in your mind, it now exists somewhere in the universe, the next step is changing yourself so that you vibrate at the same frequency. 

This part is difficult as it requires consistent energy input. Your thoughts which you control have a direct impact on your actions which you also control and both of these things influence how you feel.  

It is much easier to act in a worthwhile, fruitful manner when your thoughts are optimistic and certain. So, we want to focus our mind onto the positive. Imagine it this way, you want to start working online and be free to travel the world but you are plagued with doubt and worry, do you think that having this mindset will ever produce the results you want to see? No. Why? Because consciousness alters reality. If your conscious mind is forced on the negatives, the negatives are what will manifest. The good news is that these doubts you are having are created by you, these worries only exist inside your head. 

Something to remember along the way… Try implementing it now! 

Eradicating negative thoughts 

Now we have covered the topic of consciousness, we have to use it. Whenever you notice yourself having a negative thought you have to replace that exact thought with a positive one. 

Can you relate?

Negative: I don’t have the knowledge to start my own business working online. 

This is a better way to talk to yourself! 

Positive: I can learn everything that I need to know to make my dream a reality. 

When you think like this your actions will also change and you will feel better about YOUR life and the direction YOU are taking it in. This way of thinking will also raise your frequency and bring you closer to the reality you want. 

These exercises will be meaningless if you are still surrounded by people who do not share this goal with you. Jim Rohn once said, in fact I’m sure he has said it more than once by now 

we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with”

And this is true. If the people around you do not have the same beliefs or mindset as you, their opinions will ultimately have an impact on yours. This is counterproductive for your cause and you may find yourself investing a lot more energy just to undo their negative thoughts. I’m not saying to abandon everyone you know and become a hermit but what I am saying is that it’s important. It’s very important who you spend your time with, so be CONSCIOUS! Look at the people in your circle, identify the people who you are productive with, who you feel positive with, who you do interesting things with, who pushes you and then identify the people who have the same behaviors you are trying to change. 

A little goes a long way… 

You do not need to do all of this overnight, in fact I’d wager that if you woke up one day, quit your job, cut out all your friends, and went about laughing you would perhaps have a hard time convincing people of your sanity. 

Patience and consistent effort is the key here. Your mind loves patterns, it’s lazy, so if it has been used to thinking a certain way it will default to that mindset you are trying to change. 

So, when you lose your mojo, remember how you got it in the first place. What inspired you’re you happy now? Why did you want to change? What was your perfect day? You can do this exercise every morning to keep your focus on your goal. 

Working online is for everyone… if you want it! 

With a variety of opportunities from professional copywriter to social media marketing or even content creator. You just have to find your niche.

Choose an area you want to work in, give your conscious energy to pursuing a career in that field, and let your actions reflect what you want. Nothing is ever out of reach; you just have to try. We are amazing beautiful creatures that really can do anything we put our minds to.
